COPING WITH LIFE.021615

Stress Burdens Sticky Notes Reminders for Stressful LifeYou know, every day with Jesus really IS sweeter than the day before; but sometimes the cares of this world just get you down.  There is too much to do and not enough time to do it all in. The bills are more than the income and lots of people standing in line waiting for their part.  You’re tired, exhausted, and you get depressed from all the toxins in your system caused by the fatigue.  There’s nothing you’d like better than to have one whole day just to sleep, and maybe another day to get organized, but all this stuff is still there demanding attention.  What do we do?

The only thing I’ve had any luck with is to turn to God.  If I quit looking at the problems, and start looking at the solution, which is Jesus, pretty soon I get to feeling better.  I mean within a few minutes I start to think of all the times God has gotten me out of the traps I get myself into, and I’m ready to get up and get on with my life.

The best method I’ve found for turning away from my troubles and turning toward God is to remember my favorite Bible verses, like Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding .  .  .”; or in the 23rd Psalms, where it says, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for You are with me .  .  .”; or Philippians 4:6-7, “Don’t worry about anything, be thankful for what you have, pray for what you need, and the peace of God, that passes all understanding, will keep your heart and your mind through Christ Jesus our Lord.” (It will too!) Wow! Praise the Lord! Hallelujah!
